A Nation That Really Doesn’t Care

By Linda Sedrick Pearson

Jeremiah 8:20 The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

People no longer care. People are backsliders. God calls them to repentance. He gives them a second chance.
Last warnings are being given today. Many are not saved today. Many are lost and without God. People are dying and leaving this world without God.
The saved are far out-numbered by those who don’t care about God. Spiritual darkness has settled everywhere. People are revolting, lying, cheating, and committing adultery.
God was grieved over sinful conditions before the flood. Only eight (8) persons were saved.
Israel backslid and God was grieved.
Our nation today is backslid. God is grieved.
God is the God of second chances; but, as a whole, our nation doesn’t care.

Matthew 9:37-38 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few; Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Jeremiah preached and wept on the streets for the people. He preached to them.
God became disgusted with this people. He told Jeremiah not to pray for them or cry for them anymore.
The Word of God always touches people unless their conscience has been seared over.
People are saying that God is out, Satan is in. Satan brings misery. He offers you the top; but he gives you the bottom.

Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

God always gives us another chance. Sin brings forth death. God brings forth life.
God told the people to follow Him. God tells us to sound the warning. If we don’t, the blood is on our hands.
Not one would hear Jeremiah. God sends out preachers, teachers and Christians today. The blood is taken off our hands as long as we tell people about Jesus. People don’t want to hear preaching; but, they want our prayers.
There is a thief in this nation. His name is Satan. He has stolen our decency, honesty, integrity, and respect.
There is a thief in our houses. The T.V.—Terrible Viewing. The ungodliness of this outweighs the good. Satan steals through this T.V. He steals our prayer time, Bible study time, family time….

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Think on the good things. We all need the Word of God now more than ever. No one cares for you like Jesus does. Dig deeper, pray more for our nation, leaders, churches. Pray that God won’t shut off our prayers. God forgives a caring nation. If a nation is not caring, then they are on their own.
It is time to take a real stand for what you believe. Who is on the Lord’s side?

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Christians, pray for the lost and for our country. Turn from our wicked ways. If we do, then God will heal our land. May God help us today to get the word out. The answers are in God’s word.

Psalms 9

(King James Version)
1. I will praise thee, O LORD, with my whole heart; I will shew forth all thy marvellous works.
2. I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.
3. When mine enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at thy presence.
4. For thou hast maintained my right and my cause; thou satest in the throne judging right.
5. Thou hast rebuked the heathen, thou hast destroyed the wicked, thou hast put out their name for ever and ever.
6. O thou enemy, destructions are come to a perpetual end: and thou hast destroyed cities; their memorial is perished with them.
7. But the LORD shall endure for ever: he hath prepared his throne for judgment.
8. And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the people in uprightness.
9. The LORD also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
10. And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.
11. Sing praises to the LORD, which dwelleth in Zion: declare among the people his doings.
12. When he maketh inquisition for blood, he remembereth them: he forgetteth not the cry of the humble.
13. Have mercy upon me, O LORD; consider my trouble which I suffer of them that hate me, thou that liftest me up from the gates of death:
14. That I may shew forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy salvation.
15. The heathen are sunk down in the pit that they made: in the net which they hid is their own foot taken.
16. The LORD is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
17. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
18. For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
19. Arise, O LORD; let not man prevail: let the heathen be judged in thy sight.
20. Put them in fear, O LORD: that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah.
