HINDERANCES

Here is another posting from one of my many notebooks. These are notes that I wrote on March 28, 2005 Evening

Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

We need patience. God does things in His own time. He is an on time God.

If we are neglecting doing good for the Lord Jesus Christ, then it is sin. Don't neglect doing things in the name of Jesus. Give Him all credit and all glory and honour.

Our name is recorded in the Book of Life. There is nothing wrong with home ministry. Lead others to Christ. Then, those people should find more Christians for fellowship.

Genesis 19:26 But his wife looked back from behind him, and she became a pillar of salt.

Don't look back. Don't follow the flesh. We have to prepare for eternity while we are still here on earth.

1 Samuel 17:39 And David girded his sword upon his armour, and he assayed to go; for he had not proved it. And David said unto Saul, I cannot go with these; for I have not proved them. And David put them off him.

David could not use Saul's armour because he had not proved it. It had not been tested or used by David. David had proved the sling. He had used it and tested it over and over again. He knew the sling would work. He took what he knew.

God does not choose the great and famous. He uses those who are sincere to serve Him.

Don't let the devil hinder you by using unproven equipment. God's Word has been proven again and again.

Nehemiah 4:10 And Judah said, The strength of the bearers of burdens is decayed, and there is much rubbish; so that we are not able to build the wall.

When the people set their mind to it, they built the wall.

Matthew 13:58 And He did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

Because of the people's unbelief, Jesus was hindered. Don't be a hinderance before our brothers and sisters.

Matthew 19:22 But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions.

Love of wealth and possessions is a hinderance. Don't let what you own hinder you from serving the Lord.

Mark 16:3 And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?
Mark 16:4 And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

The people were worried about an imaginary hinderance. The hinderance (stone) had already been removed.

Don't let doubt enter your mind and hinder you from serving the Lord. "Can't" never could do anything! Go forth believing that you can!

Luke 9:59 And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Luke 9:60 Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.

Come as you are. There will always be hinderances. Come in spite of the hinderances.

TODAY IS THE DAY OF SALVATION!
WE ARE RECONCILED TO GOD THROUGH THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!
WON'T YOU ACCEPT HIM TODAY?

THE NEW COVENANT

March 28, 2004

Jer 31:31 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah:
Jer 31:32 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:
Jer 31:33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.
Heb 10:2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.
Heb 10:3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.
Heb 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Heb 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Mat 26:28 For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

2Co 3:7 But if the ministration of death, written and engraven in stones, was glorious, so that the children of Israel could not stedfastly behold the face of Moses for the glory of his countenance; which glory was to be done away:

Moses received the law, which was in effect until Jesus Christ came to be offered as the final sacrifice once for all.

When the priests offered the sacrifice, there was no change to the person and it had to be done over every day of the week, month, or year.

Once Jesus offered Himself for the Sacrifice, and each person accepts Jesus as payment of his/her sins, that doesn't have to be repeated.

There has to be a change in the individual.

We have to be willing to do some of these changes ourselves. It is not enough to acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the Savior. You have to make a change in your lifestyle. In other words, you can't just say, "Okay, I accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and now my part is done." You have to do your part by prayer and Bible study--daily!.

Grow daily in grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ!

Our will is not always God's will.

Heb 10:1 For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

Jesus' sacrifice, when accepted with the whole heart, changes the mind. If we want to follow the LORD, we will. We have to want to do the things God wants us to do.

You have to acknowledge and know that Jesus Christ is Saviour and Lord in order to be saved.

We all need to be guided in the direction of God in order to be saved. We have to know about Jesus.

Godly sorrow leads us to respent.

The Holy Spirit draws us to repentance. One cannot be saved whenever they want to without the Holy Spirit drawing you first. The Holy Spirit draws you, you accept; and then, you begin to grow through study and prayers. If the Holy Spirit is not there to draw you, you can not be saved.

Once you have become a child of God, you will have a flesh change as far as filthy speaking, lying, stealing, cheating, murder, adultry, or whatever you have done in the flesh. Those things should cease within you; however, it may take some time before you break some of the bad habits you have developed over the years. It takes hard work and constant battling with some of these things.

Gen 6:6 And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

We should want to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and to God and deny our flesh. We need to grow so that we can lead others to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jer 31:34 And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.

Heb 10:12 But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God;
Heb 10:13 From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool.
Heb 10:14 For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Sanctification = Cleansing

We are to be sanctified, cleaned up. God's plan is that we grow daily and keep stepping toward Him, our Father, who dwells in heaven.

Love Without Expectations

This posting is from my Spiritual Notebook. The date I wrote this was January 9, 1994. I felt it was time to share this one with you.

January 9, 1994
Love others not expecting anything back in return. Give out expecting it to keep going. The only way I can call Jesus friend is if I have a clean conscience and am doing what He wants me to do. A friend is someone that shares your life with you.

Servant--devoted to another, follows without question and without knowing, treated lowly, kept in the dark.

Friend--shares and becomes a part of a person's life, shares with us, gives to us, Jesus.

We are never alone if Christ is our friend. Joy will come to us if we do the things Christ wants us to do.

John 12:
44 Jesus cried and said, He that believeth on me, believeth not on me, but on him that sent me.
45 And he that seeth me seeth him that sent me.
46 I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.

Life everlasting to it's fullest comes from following Jesus fully. What Jesus said came from God the Father.
Do we abide in darkness or follow the Light? Does Jesus call me friend? Do I show Him true friendship?
