Two Sides to this Story, Part 2

This is continued from last week. You can find Part 1 here: http://www.lordshelpers.com/blogs/2008/04/verses-week-of-april-1-7-2008.html.

Jude 1:20 But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Jude 1:21 Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jude 1:22 And of some have compassion, making a difference:
Jude 1:23 And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.

This is the second side of this story. God tells us to continue to build ourselves up on our faith. Don't give up, no matter how bad it looks for the side of the evil and wicked. Continue on your path, don't fail, keep serving God. Continue to watch for our Lord Jesus Christ. He is coming again - I don't know when - only God knows the day and the hour that will happen. For now, it should be sufficient for you to know that He is coming back for us!

Until Jesus comes back for us, we are to continue to spread His word as much as we can. This is the job of every Christian. We are to spread the word to anyone that will listen. Friends, family, and strangers are to whom we are to spread the gospel. Don't forget your neighbors either. With spring coming on more people will be out enjoying the nice weather. Give people a smile and a hello. Watch what you do and how you act when out in public. Don't get impatient at checkout lines, when driving your car, and other day-to-day things we must do. People are watching to see how we handle situations. Spread the gospel to others through your actions and deeds. You don't have to be of eloquent speech (remember that was one of Moses' concerns) in order to show Jesus to others. It is probably our actions and reactions that speak much louder than any words that are preached by anyone. They also fall on more people. Pay attention to your actions and reactions. Spread the gospel by letting people see how a Christian handles situations.

Two Sides to This Story

Jude 1:14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints,
Jude 1:15 To execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him.
Jude 1:16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men's persons in admiration because of advantage.
Jude 1:17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
Jude 1:19 These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.

This is the side of the story for those who are wicked and evil. They go their own way, stomping over anyone that gets in their way. They torment and torture those who are believers and think they are getting away with it. They are not. The Lord is coming to execute His judgments upon them. I want to pity them, but I cannot. God has given them chance after chance. He is long-suffereing, that not one will perish, still they reject Him. At the time of the judgment they will pay for their own sins. They jest and joke and mock believers. They tell their dirty jokes and do everything to make the life of a Christian miserable. They try to stop the Christian from getting promotions and pay raises. Sometimes they succeed in their evil deeds - for now. The day is coming when God will repay them. They are already miserable in their evil deeds - they are never satisfied, never have peace, and cannot sleep for trying to imagine even more evil against those who follow Christ. However, they will finally fail - no matter how much it looks like they win - they fail.

I will continue this with Part 2 the next time.

Verse(s) Week of March 25-31, 2008

God is My Avenger

Luke 18:7 "And shall not God avenge His own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? "

Do you ever feel sometimes like God is not listening to your cries. I do and have been feeling that way a lot lately. However, I know that is not true. In this verse, God shows me that He is listening. Not only that, but He also shows me that He is my avenger. He sometimes lets things go for a while, but that doesn't mean He isn't listening. Maybe He is testing how strong my faith is. Or maybe He wants to know whether I am able to withstand these trials and temptations.

The time is coming when tribulations much more violent than anything I have gone through will be in the fore front. Yet, God listens to my cries and He catches my tears. He does care for me. He will also avenge for me. I pity those who feel His vengeance.

Until next time,
