Put God First in 2008
If you have not previously been one to do so, I beg you to make God your priority this year. God should always be first in our lives. He should be consulted about everything in our daily lives. One time when I told a lady that, she said that she felt she was not important enough for God to worry about her menial daily tasks. I answered, "If God thought you were important
enough to send His Son, Jesus Christ, to die for your sins and save you, then He thinks you are important enough to help through each and every day!"
That is what I feel about God. He wants to be a part of our daily lives. He doesn't want to be consulted only on Sundays, but He expects to be consulted on every little thing in our lives. Why don't you try Him out this year and see if that is so. He said in His Word, "And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they toil not, neither do they spin: and yet I say unto you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. Wherefore, if God so clothe the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith." (Matthew 6:28-30)
As you can see in God's Word, He does care for every little thing in our lives - even the clothes we wear! Why not decide to put God first in everything this year. It is your choice.

What Is A Spiritual Notebook

My spiritual notebook on this web site is a blog where I can quickly post thoughts, bible verses, photos, or anything else the Lord leads me to write or contribute. Off the web site and in my daily living, I do keep another type of spiritual notebook. Actually, it has grown to a suitcase full of notebooks where I write down Bible study notes, thoughts, prayers, and much more. I started keeping a spiritual notebook (or journal) several years ago.
I do date all the pages. Everytime I start a new page I put the date at the top. I started doing that after I would go back to read what I had wrote and had no idea when I had written the notes. It helps me to see how far God has brought me and in so little time. Sometimes, when I think God is taking a long time with something He has promised me, I look back through my notebooks and see that it has only been a couple of years since the promise.
So, what is a spiritual notebook? It can be whatever you want it to be. It can be hand-written, typed on the computer, or posted on the Internet. The important thing is to record what you learn as you study God's Word. It is a lot of fun to go back and read several years later. You'd be surprised what you read. Many times I don't even remember writing the things I go back and read later. It's fun. I find out things about myself that I never knew. A rediscovery of self could be another definition of a spiritual notebook.
